Kip Winger: From Rock to Classical? My Symphony of the Returning Light and Violin Concerto In the Language of Flowers, with the Nashville Symphony and virtuoso violinist Peter Otto, all conducted by Maestro Giancarlo Guerrero, is coming out on April 10 on Naxos! Pre-order now.

Kip Winger has quietly built a serious second act as a contemporary classical composer, writing orchestral and ballet music that has been performed by major companies and orchestras. Under the name C. F. Kip Winger, he studied composition with noted composer Richard Danielpour and went on to write the ballet score *Ghosts*, which has been staged by San Francisco Ballet and presented at venues such as Lincoln Center, Sadler’s Wells in London, and the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. His album *C.F. Kip Winger: Conversations with Nijinsky*, recorded by the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Traditional Classical chart and earned him a Grammy nomination in the category of Best Contemporary Classical Composition at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.
