Phil Lewis Talks New L.A. Guns Album – Tracii Guns

The most recent incarnation of L.A. Guns features vocalist Phil Lewis and guitarist Tracii Guns. After years of turmoil, it appears the duo have patched things up enough to release an album. Phil Lewis recently spoke to WestWord about how things are going.
The New Material
“It sounds amazing — I’m not exaggerating,” Lewis says. “It’s so slick, and every song is so well-crafted. Big choruses. It’s really interesting, and I think people are going to be knocked out by it. We’re gonna release it on CD and digital, of course, but we’re gonna put it put on vinyl. We have enough to put it out on double vinyl gatefold.”
The Live Show
“You’ll definitely get the nuggets — ‘Electric Gypsy,’ ‘Sex Action,’ ‘Never Enough’ and ‘The Ballad of Jayne’,” he says. “We’ve been trying to put as much as we can — a song from Vicious Circle, a song from Waking the Dead. We’ve pretty much got a song from every record that me and Tracii have done. So, yeah, it should be interesting.”
Lewis continued,“This new record is going to really keep us busy. The label is getting right behind it. If I think things are busy now, we’re going to get into hyperdrive in the next couple of months.”
L.A. Guns is rounded out by Shane Fitzgibbon, Johnny Martin and Michael Grant. A summer release date is expected.
