D-A-D – “Sleeping My Day Away”
“Sleeping My Day Away” is the most successful single from Danish rock band D-A-D outside Denmark, spending two weeks on the UK Top 100. Released in 1989 with “Ill Will” as its B-side, both songs also appeared on the band’s breakthrough album No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims.
Formed in Copenhagen, D-A-D originally performed under the name Disneyland After Dark before shortening it for international release. No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims, their third studio album and first major international breakthrough, helped introduce the band to a much wider audience beyond Denmark.
The album featured the lineup of Jesper Binzer on vocals and rhythm guitar, Jacob Binzer on lead guitar, Stig Pedersen on bass, and Peter L. Jensen on drums, capturing the band at the moment they broke onto the international hard rock scene.
