Robert Plant to Release New Album ‘Carry Fire’ in October, New Track “May Queen” Listen!

“The May Queen,” a brand new song from Robert Plant, can be streamed below. The track is taken from Plants’s forthcoming solo album, Carry Fire, which will be available October 13th via Nonesuch/Warner Brothers Records. The self-produced eleventh solo album from the former Led Zeppelin frontman is the follow-up to 2014’s lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar. Pre-order the album at this location and receive the “The May Queen” as an instant download.

“It’s about intention, I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the lure and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new,” said Plant. “Consequently the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation.”

The upcoming solo effort once again features his band the Sensational Space Shifters. Notable mentions include a duet with Pretenders vocalist Chrissie Hynde on the rockabilly classic “Bluebirds Over the Mountain” and guest appearances by cellist Redi Hasa and Seth Lakeman on viola/fiddle.
