Morrissey Biopic ‘England is Mine’ to Premiere @ 71st Edinburgh International Film Festival

England in Mine, the new unauthorized Morrissey biopic, will close out the 71st Edinburgh International Film Festival at the Festival Theatre on July 2nd. The film focuses on Morrissey’s early life in 1970’s Manchester before he went on to front the seminal 80’s band The Smiths.
Mark Adams, the film festival’s artistic director, released the following statement:
Morrissey is definitively one of Britain’s most iconic artists, and we are delighted to be exploring the enigma of his incredible life story on closing night with the world premiere of England Is Mine.” The movie stars Jack Lowden as Morrissey. It is directed by Mark Gill and produced by Baldwin Li and Orian Williams (who produced the Ian Curtis biopic Control). England Is Mine takes place in the ’70s and culminates with Morrissey meeting Johnny Marr.”
