Listen to Jack Moore’s Tribute to His Father, the Late Gary Moore

Here’s a great tribute video created by Gary Moore’s son Jack Moore and guitarist Danny Young. Jack was inspired by what would have been Gary’s 65th birthday (April 4th).  “As it’s dad’s birthday month, I felt inspired to pay tribute with this video.”

In the video, Jack can been seen playing one of Gary’s guitars, a Turquoise Gibson Firebird III. Meanwhile, Young is playing a Gibson Les Paul with Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Greenie pickups, recreating a very specific Peter Green-style tone.

Gary Moore is best known as a solo artist and for his work in Thin Lizzy and British band Colosseum II. He was highly influenced by John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers guitarists Peter Green as well as Eric Clapton, and blues legends Albert King, B.B. King and Albert Collins.

Gary Moore died at the age of 58 on February 6, 2011.
