Lamb of God’s Mark Morton on Dokken’s “It’s Not Love”: I still think about that sh** – 2022

Does anyone else remember how in the bridge of Dokken’s ‘It’s Not Love’, Don Dokken sings the line, “When I told you is he putting you down…down…down.”

I still think about that shit.

I just don’t understand how that line didn’t get flagged. There were easy fixes…coulda easily been, “When I told you he’s just putting you down..” or “When I asked you is he putting you down.”…either of those fix the problem.

How did Neil Kernon not catch this???

Michael Wagener gets a pass …he’s German. We can’t necessarily expect him to flag a grammar trainwreck in the bridge lyrics.
