Farewell Mo Ostin, Warner Brothers Records’ CEO Dies at 95 – 2022 – Van Halen

The longtime Warner Brothers Records’ CEO Mo Ostin has passed away at 95. His career accomplishments are the stuff of legend. I feel fortunate that Ted Templeman shared so many stories with me of his years working under Mo’s leadership. Here’s Mo and Ted with Van Halen, 1979. RIP.

Yes, he and I competed with each other for many years but my friendship with him was very deep and extended to our respective families. I will always cherish our very close relationship. -Clive

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Mo Ostin. We’ve known each other since 1962 when Mo set up Reprise Records working out of the William Morris Agency in Bev Hills. Mo was the greatest record man in the history of music. RIP

Another Mo Ostin moment. Dec 20, 78, Mo, EVH (who played a solo on her debut) Nicolette Larson & other WBR execs celebrate backstage at the Roxy in Hollywood after her performance. She was backed by members of Little Feat & the Doobies & Templeman (not pictured). RIP Mo. pic.twitter.com/VWS5kmBaT1
