Living Colour released their debut studio album, Vivid, on May 3, 1988 via Epic Records. Recognized as one of the most popular albums of that year, it peaked at #6 in the United States on the Billboard 200 chart. Due to the enormous success of their single, “Cult of Personality,” the album was eventually certified double platinum by the RIAA, after selling over 2 million copies in the U.S. alone.
