Tom Zutaut:
What sometimes gets lost in the story of the Crüe is the true genius of Nikki Sixx. A brilliant mind yet mired early on in the human frailty that manifests in huge success so quickly in combination with a rotten childhood. Brilliance that deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, not shit on by those who decide. The songwriting, the artwork, the stage shows, and the larger-than-life comic book characters were all initially birthed in the creative mind of Sixx and flushed out by the band, myself, Werman, Rock, Doc, and Doug, and then Kovac… And a few others with fans in a supporting role. And let’s not forget @miqwillmott, a teenager who walked cold into my office with an amazing portfolio of drawings, I got Sixx (in less than 2 hours) to see his drawings and they created Allister Mcfiend. Every band needs a great mascot like Eddie was for Iron Maiden! Go read Sixx’s “Heroin Diaries” and “This Is Gonna Hurt”. Read him directly from his own mind and see for yourself how articulate and smart he is… And understand the creative brilliance of this amazing mind. Understand the spark that started this fire… And the band he found that deserves to be in the Rock Hall in Cleveland💟!
