The Dead Weather Performs for First Time in 5 Years

Jack White’s The Dead Weather performed on Monday night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, marking the band’s first live performance in over five years. Ironically, the last time White performed with Alison Mosshart was an August 2010 episode of The Late Show, when David Letterman was still hosting. Monday night the band played “I Feel Love,” the lead single from the band’s impending third album, Dodge and Burn, due September 25th on White’s Third Man Records imprint.

White, who also fronts the White Stripes and The Raconteurs, has a very successful solo career, and a pretty successful record label that has helped drive a minor resurgence in vinyl collecting. Monday was a pretty active day for White, as well, as he reignited a feud with drummer Patrick Carney of the Black Keys, who he had allegedly tried to fight in a New York City bar. The feud appeared quelled later in the day, however, as Third Man Records tweeted: “From one musician to another, you have my respect, Patrick Carney.”
