Guitarist Michael Angelo Batio to Perform with Manowar on Upcoming 2023 Tour

MANOWAR Official:

Guitarist Michael Angelo Batio Will Perform With MANOWAR On Their Forthcoming “Crushing The Enemies Of Metal” Anniversary Tour 2023

Following guitarist E.V. Martel’s announcement that he will not be available next year, MANOWAR have invited metal shred legend Michael Angelo Batio to perform with them.

Martel announced on social media that he will take a break from touring for personal reasons. He added:

“MANOWAR, their crew, along with all the Manowarriors around the world have been really great to me from the moment I came onboard. I could not be more thankful for the good times we have shared.”

Joey DeMaio:

“We love and respect E.V. and support his decision. He is a true brother, and we’ll forever share unforgettable memories like playing near the Arctic Circle or in Mexico for the first time!”

“We’ve known Michael for many years and have always admired his work. His technique is astounding, when we invited him to come and jam with us, we played together at the speed of light. Everything fell into place immediately. We’re ready for a killer tour!

Batio, who will play his first shows with MANOWAR starting February 2023 is a veteran both in the studio and on stage.

Voted by Guitar One Magazine the “No. 1 Fastest Guitar Shredder of All Time” Chicago-native Batio is an accomplished musician in many genres but is best known for his lightning-fast metal performances. He is renowned the world over for his technical mastery of the fretboard, extremely fast picking and his invention, the “MAB Over Under” technique. His ability to play a double-necked and quad-necked guitar, using both hands has earned him the respect of fans and fellow musicians alike.

Michael Angelo Batio:

“I could not be more excited! I love metal more than anything, and it doesn’t get more metal than MANOWAR! I can’t wait to get on stage and play for the MANOWAR fans!”

MANOWAR’s “Crushing The Enemies Of Metal Anniversary Tour 2023” celebrates the band’s (over four decades long) career and iconic albums such as “Battle Hymns”, “Into Glory Ride, “The Triumph Of Steel” and “Warriors Of The World”.

Death Dealer w/ Manowar’s Ross the Boss & Cage’s Sean Peck – New ALBUM / SONG / VIDEO 2020 – ‘Conquered Lands’

DEATH DEALER SET TO RETURN WITH ‘CONQUERED LANDS’

PRE-ORDER

The band DEATH DEALER lead by ROSS THE BOSS has returned for another heavy metal attack with their 3rd record CONQUERED LANDS – to be released worldwide November 13, 2020, through STEEL CARTEL. DEATH DEALER has an all-star heavy metal roster featuring the aforementioned ROSS THE BOSS (ex-MANOWAR) Sean Peck: vocals (CAGE, THE THREE TREMORS, DENNER/SHERMANN), Stu Marshall: guitar (DUNGEON, NIGHT LEGION), Steve Bolognese: drums (ROSS THE BOSS BAND, INTO ETERNITY), and newly added bass player extraordinaire Mike Lepond (SYMPHONY-X, ROSS THE BOSS BAND).

Ross: “We have been working on this record for quite a while now and it feels like the perfect time to get this out and give the people a kick ass heavy metal record. It almost seems like it was meant to be that the album comes out during this time period because people could use this uplifting rock and roll to put some positive energy back into their lives.”

Stu: “We all worked really hard on this thing and I am really happy with how it sounds. All the people that helped me with the production really came through, especially Maor Applebaum who mastered it.”

Sean: “Making an album always is fun and you look forward to the fans’ reaction to it of course, but I really look forward to performing some of these ripping, speed screamers live on stage with the guys – and my new band mate, MIKE LEPOND.”

The DEATH DEALER sound mixes classic heavy metal with elements of thrash, power, and epic stylings, all wrapped around powerful choruses that compel the listener to sing along at the top of their lungs with fists held high in the air. The album’s lead-off track, “Sorcerer Supreme,” can be heard below.

Their debut album, WARMASTER, was met with critical acclaim and led them to an arena tour opening slot in Europe and parts of Asia. Their follow up album, HALLOWED GROUND, continued where they left off and quickly helped them build a loyal fanbase aided by their headlining tour in Europe

DEATH DEALER will be supporting their new release with touring and festival appearances in the coming months.

DEATH DEALER has compiled an insane variety of pre-order packages, dubbed “ULTIMATE CONQUEROR PAKS,” that have combinations of unique digipak, colored vinyl, and merch configurations. The label STEEL CARTEL has become well known for offering exotic arrangements of unique merchandise products for the fans at value-rich price points. This go around, they have a stunning, 3-D Lenticular print of the cover art by DUSAN MARKOVIC included – amongst the other killer items. “I always look forward to working with Sean Peck on album art,” says Dusan. “He always brings a fresh idea to the table and pushes me in new directions I don’t normally go. The ‘CONQUERED LANDS’ cover was fun because I do not do a lot of Egyptian themes and this cover came out great.”

The album was mixed by Stu Marshall, and guitars, drums, and bass were treated at MONOLITH STUDIOS in Melbourne Australia by Chris Themelco. The album was mastered by Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles, California. Stu Marshall talked about the mixing and mastering partners he engaged. “Chris made some amazing things happen to the mix and sound of the instruments and what can you say about Maor? He is the best in the business right now. There is no reason to look for anyone else. He has always been a big supporter too, which is great!”

Only 3 tracks will reach the streaming platforms for the foreseeable future – this is an “old school campaign,” directed at the true metal supporters and long- term fan engagement.

‘CONQUERED LANDS’ TRACKLIST:

1. Sorcerer Supreme
2. Every Nation
3. Beauty and the Blood
4. Running with the Wolves
5. The Heretic Has Returned
6. Conquered Lands
7. Hail to the King
8. Slay or Be Slain
9. Faith Under Fire
10. 22 Gone

Tim “Ripper” Owens, Ross the Boss, Marc Lopes Join Forces to Honor Healthcare Workers & First Responders 2020

TIM “RIPPER” OWENS, ROSS THE BOSS, AND MARC LOPES JOIN FORCES WITH HELD HOSTAGE FOR A HISTORIC NIGHT OF ROCK TO HONOR OUR HEALTHCARE WORKERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS

This past Saturday (August 8, 2020) at Sharkeys in Liverpool was a “you had to be there” sold out concert. The band Held Hostage (Tom Collier: lead guitars/vocals, Scott Gregg: rhythm guitar/backup vocals, Dave Carroll: bass guitar/backup vocals and Jeff Murray drums), were joined on stage for what can only be described as an EPIC night of rock.

Held Hostage played songs from their new record, ‘Epic,’ that features Tim Ripper Owens on all 12 tracks (available on Metal Mania Records/MVD). They opened the show with the Collier-sung “We’ll Rock For You.” Then on third song of the night, Marc Lopes took the stage and sang 5 songs, starting with “Standback” – a song about how the band started out in an old slaughter house they use to call the shack, and moved to a one room school house they still rehearse and play in. Lopes ripped off 4 more songs, and then legendary guitarist Ross the Boss joined them on stage with Marc, and they rocked a version of the Grand Funk Railroad classic, “We’re An American Band” – with the crowd continuing to go wild. Ross stayed on stage to play on the Held Hostage classic, “Tonight’s the Nite” – dedicated to the late great singer from AC/DC, Bon Scott. One of Ross the Boss’ old friends.

Then it was time for Tim Ripper Owens to join Held Hostage for 6 songs. From the second Ripper hit the stage, the crowd was roaring. Ripper started with the song “Your Name” and then hit “Turn the Light On”, by this point the crowds were going wild and loving every minute of the concert. When Ripper did their hit song “Lightning,” it was a complete frenzy (watch video below). The night ended with what can only be described as an “ending of all endings.” Everyone on stage with Held Hostage, Tim Ripper Owens, Ross the Boss and Marc Lopes finished the night off with the Held Hostage classic song, “Rockin the Nite Away”.

At the end of the song, Ross The Boss and Held Hostage lead guitarist Tom Collier went into dueling leads on the guitars – exchanging back forth and challenging each other with different riffs. The crowd was mesmerized and stunned at what they were seeing. Then they were given a standing (with their masks on) ovation and cheers and screams heard all over. It was truly a historical finish to a fantastic night of honoring our healthcare workers and first responders. All healthcare workers and first responders were given free VIP tickets, meet and greet with the bands, and seating as guests of honor for this once in a lifetime concert.

Opening the show were local artists Debbie Abbott, Whiskey Hollow Rush and Juhl, and was sponsored by Castle Blakk Radio, The Metal Voice, Bikers United, Subcat Studios, Sharkeys, Carol Deming.

“It was great to join Tom Collier and Held Hostage to support our first responders!” said Ross the Boss, while Tom Collier added, “Held Hostage has always been known for helping people, and also, bringing in these rock legends was one of the biggest honors of my life, and to be able to share the stage with all of them and play songs from Held Hostage record ‘Epic.’ Also, to play dueling guitars with someone I have always looked up too, Ross the Boss, was a dream come true.” And finally, Ripper described the evening as “A fun show for a great cause, always good to do something for first responders.”

Rainer Hänsel Dies, “He passed on peacefully”

German producer, tour promoter and owner of CBH Records, Rainer Hänsel, has died. He was 63 years old.

Manowar:
“It is with a heavy heart that we must share the sad news of the passing of one of the greatest of men. Our friend and brother Rainer Hänsel is no longer with us. His legacy will live on for ages, both in his life-long devotion to touring, record production, fun and music and in the hearts and souls of all the people who have had the pleasure of working with Rainer through the years, knew him as a man of integrity and a true friend to the end.

“He passed on peacefully in the way that he wished, in the home that he loved with his beloved dogs by his side. Please take a moment of silence to honor not only a legend in rock and heavy metal but one of Germany’s proudest sons.”

Molly Hatchet’s John Galvin:
“RIP Rainer Hansel. Rainer was the guy that believed in Molly Hatchet back in the 90’s and signed us to a German label, a relationship that’s lasted decades, and opened a whole new market for both concerts and recording for us. The timing couldn’t have been better. And, he was a bit of a metal head, which explains our heavier sound since then.”

Official Motorhead:
“We are very sad to report that our old German promoter, Rainer Hansel, has passed away. LEGEND, RIP.”

Motorhead’s Phil Campbell:
“Rainer promoted MOTÖRHEAD in Germany for many years. XmaS metal meetings was his baby. Always rockin’ side of stage. RIP Rainer Hansel”

Saxon’s Biff Byford:
“Good friend Rainer Hänsel gone on to the other side had some great times together RIP biffx”
