Armored Saint:
MESSAGE FROM JOHN BUSH AND ARMORED SAINT :
What up Saint faithful!!
The tour has been awesome so far. We’ve had killer shows with incredible receptions, so we thank you all who’ve attended. You guys have been amazing!
We also want to thank the WASP camp. They have been extremely kind to us throughout the run.
Unfortunately, luck has dealt me a gnarly knuckle ball. I came down with an illness and even though it hasn’t made me feel bad, it still has infiltrated my nasal and chest area and planted itself. I tried to push through in typical John Bush fashion in Cleveland and Pittsburgh but by doing so I jacked up my pipes and now I sit in Baltimore frustrated and emotionally distraught.

Luckily, long- time friend and Armored Saint fan Jason McMaster (Dangerous Toys/ Broken Teeth) is coming to the rescue again. He’s already helped Accept earlier this year on tour and now he’s stepping into the batter’s box for me. I am extremely grateful, and I know he’ll kill it!
I’ve seen a great doctor and he’s got me on the mend, and I hope to be onstage soon.
I’m out here on the road and I plan on being near the stage in giving my band members my support.
Thanks to the fans for your understanding and don’t be offended if I don’t talk to you.
JB.

Promoter Over Sells W.A.S.P. Show in Dallas – Show Shut Down by Dallas Fire Department
November 5, 2022 — After a string of sold out shows, the W.A.S.P. show in Dallas, Texas was shut down Saturday night by the Dallas Fire Department just prior to the band taking the stage as the almost 2000-seat capacity venue was over sold. According to the Dallas Fire Department the show was over sold by almost 1200 tickets.
W.A.S.P. lead singer Blackie Lawless: “The Dallas Police Department advised us to leave the venue immediately because they said they could not guarantee our safety”. He went on to say, “Promoters didn’t think this band could sell tickets in the U.S. anymore, well it goes to show the absolute dedication of our fan base has here in the US.” No return date has been set for this show, but Blackie said, “we’ll certainly be back, you can bet on that”. All those in attendance will be issued a full and complete refund.

The Numero Group:
Bound for Hell is early ’80s L.A. rock as it actually was – a California cataclysm of drunk and horny headbangers, dressed in sharp, shiny, leather androgyny and fire, kicking crowds in the teeth to clear the way to that one big shot.
Featuring 21 tracks by 21 of the Sunset Strip’s most razor-sharp heathens. Available as a 2-LP box set with an ephemera-stuffed gatefold and 144-page hardbound book, or a sheer savage CD Wallet, with a 12-panel double-sided poster for those denizens of the compact disc. Drumsticks burned. Hands were severed. Faces bled. Heavy was HELL for a half decade and it was a long, long way down.

full in bloom: Any memories stand out from the March of the Saint recording sessions?
Joey Vera: By the time we were to record March of the Saint, our recording experience was very limited. We had done a drunken and stoned session, which was our first EP, and then we did 2 sessions with our A&R guy at Chrysalis (Ron Fair) which led to us getting signed. So, we went into Ocean Way Studios home of such heavies as AC/DC, BB King, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Supertramp, Barbara Streisand, Tom Petty, Rolling Stones. In fact, we were there for two and a half months and during that time, Supertramp was recording in the studio on one side and Barbara Streisand was in the other. And there we were making March of the Saint, bringing our friends over, drinking beer, and just having a party. We were 21 years old. Little did we understand though that this studio was costing us $300 an hour or $2500 a day. And we missed the part about having to pay that back to the record company. Our producer Michael James Jackson (KISS, Creatures of the Night) was never there or always on the phone. But we didn’t quite see eye to eye with him anyway. One day he told us that he didn’t like Black Sabbath. From that day on it was like “you just don’t get it.” The whole thing was a great big slap in the face. Suddenly we had all of these outside people fucking with our thing, slowing tempos down, making things overly polished, trying to manufacture a “sellable item.” It was the first time we felt like we were losing control. At the end of the record, we were very unhappy with the production, the mix, the way we worked, and who we worked with. And the producer and our manager let us spend over $300,000 on our first record. To this day we are still in debt for that one.
Armored Saint: To continue celebrating our 40th anniversary this year, we’ll be digging into the Saint vault and pulling out some throwback photos to share with you all. Starting it off with this gem!
Before Saint formed, John, Joey, Phil, and Gonzo had a band (1979) while Juniors in high school called Royal Decree (Yes, we were waaay into Queen).
This check stub is from a battle of the bands at our high school which we won first prize, with one of the judges being Rodney Bingenheimer of KROQ Los Angeles fame.

Armored Saint: Saint fans, these are for YOU. 👊🏼
Our first three records are finally getting reissued on vinyl in some killer colors! Couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our 40th year as a band! A massive thank you to each and every one of you for sticking around four entire decades. It means the world! 🤘 These drop 4.15.

June 6th 2022 marks the 40th Anniversary of the band that has rocked and shocked, thrashed, trashed, and blasted its way into shock and roll history. Your band, the world’s band… my band W.A.S.P.
To celebrate, the band will embark on their first U.S tour in a decade and take fans back through 40 years of madness. Coming along for the trek are L.A.’s ARMORED SAINT, who are also celebrating their 40th Anniversary. And as a special treat, MICHAEL SCHENKER will appear on the Texas and Tulsa shows.
Blackie Lawless:
For over 10 years we have not toured on U.S. soil. But starting Oct. 28th, 2022… we return. 10 years I’d want, 10 years I’ve cussed, 10 years I’d lust to return…. To my homeland… and be a Wild Child, a Love Machine, to be Blind in Texas, On Your Knees and Headless.”
Joined by bassist Mike Duda, and Doug Blair whose time in the band is 26 and 18 years, along with drummer extraordinaire Aquiles Priester, they will take the band and the fans back to where it all started, complete with the stage show extravaganza that many fans never saw live.
So join me and the band, and very special guests Armored Saint, as we celebrate W.A.S.P 40th Anniversary Tour… Back in the U.S…. Back to the Beginning. I’m gonna scream, cause I wanna feed, cause I wanna bleed, cause I Wanna Be Somebody. W.A.S.P. 40th Anniversary Tour… Back in the US…. Back to the Beginning.”

Scott Ian: This photo was taken backstage at L’Amour in Brooklyn on January 25 1985 at the Metallica/Armored Saint show. They played 3 nights (I was at all 3). This was my first meeting with Saint and now I have the photo to prove that we were fast friends. Pictured left to right – Dave Prichard, me, Joey Vera, Todd Gordon (Todd put out Exodus’ Bonded By Blood on his label Torrid Records). It’s rare that I see a photo I’ve never seen before from back then. This one really resonates a time and a place. The “good’ol days” as they say. Thank you Joey Vera for sending it to me – I love you brother. I wish I still had that El Borbah shirt!
