“I glanced over at Nikki, and Nikki instantly pulled me upstairs into the dressing-room bathroom, locking Blackie out. He told me Blackie was the biggest liar and thief he’d ever met, that any help Blackie ever offered was just a way to move himself further ahead. Nikki had already figured him out back when they played together and knew exactly how he operated. He warned me never to share ideas or suggestions with Blackie, because he’d steal them as fast as he could throw your grandmother off a cliff and get away with it.”
