Pink Floyd Receives Plaque Honoring 50th Anniversary

Pink Floyd founder drummer Nick Mason and frontman Roger Waters were on-hand last week for the unveiling of a plaque commemorating the band’s 50th anniversary at Regent Street Polytechnic in London. Current frontman David Gilmour did not attend since he was not a founding member. The other two founding members, keyboardist Richard Wright and singer / guitarist Syd Barrett, are no longer alive. The ceremony took place at Regent Street Polytechnic, the London university where Waters and Mason were enrolled when they formed the band in 1965. The band is just the second to be honored with a plaque at the school, after David Bowie was memorialized in 2012. Watch the video clip below for more from the ceremony.
