Nadir D’Priest became the definitive voice of London in the mid‑’80s, fronting the band through their classic glam era and helping cement their reputation as the Sunset Strip’s ultimate “farm team” for future stars. Originally founded in 1978 by bassist Nikki Sixx and guitarist Lizzie Grey after their stint in Sister with Blackie Lawless, London went through a revolving door of members that reads like a who’s who of L.A. metal: future W.A.S.P. leader Blackie Lawless, Guns N’ Roses alumni Slash, Izzy Stradlin and drummer Steven Adler, Cinderella drummer Fred Coury, W.A.S.P. drummer Tony Richards, plus various singers like Nigel Benjamin, Michael White, Henry Valentine and John Ward all passed through at different points before D’Priest locked in as the frontman for albums like Non Stop Rock. Don’t Cry Wolf and Playa Del Rock, giving London its most stable and recognizable lineup even as so many of its former members went on to bigger fame.
In the clip above, Nadir talks to full in bloom about Fred Coury, Tony Richards and Bobby Marks. You can listen to more from this interview on Patreon.
