Great Lake Swimmers “Falling Apart/The Talking Wind” Single Premiere, Listen!

“Falling Apart / The Talking Wind,” the new single from Great Lake Swimmers, can be heard below.  Pared down to dreamy layers of harp, piano, and vocals, with a guest appearance from acclaimed harpist Mary Lattimore on “Falling Apart,” the single also features a woodwind ensemble as the lone instrumental support for the lead track “The Talking Wind,” along with complimentary backing vocals by singer/songwriter Megan Bonnell.

The lush acoustics of Bishop Cronyn Memorial Church in London, Ontario lend the songs their ambient backdrop, which were co-produced with Toronto’s Chris Stringer (Union Sound).

About the single, mainman Tony Dekker said: “I’m particularly proud of this one, both lyrically and in the arrangement. We’ve been working on a new album over the past year with a minimal, scaled back, and atmospheric approach. You won’t hear much acoustic guitar on it. For “The Talking Wind” I thought it would be appropriate for a song about the wind to made up entirely of woodwinds and vocals. There’s a rhythmic, hypnotic quality to them.”
