VIDEO: Deep Purple Releases Official Video for ‘Johnny’s Band’

Deep Purple released their official video for the track ‘Johnny’s Band’, which appears on the band’s 15th studio album, inFinite. The album was released on April 7, 2017 and entered the Top 10 Album Charts in eighteen countries.

‘Johnny’s Band’ is described as an affectionate portrait of a fictional band who quickly gains success and enjoys everything that comes with it. As often happens, Johnny’s Band can´t help but lose it, and break up, only to find out later that the pleasure they get from performing live is all that matters, even when the hype, the success and the glory have long vanished.
In their minds, they are still playing to sold out crowds.

The video was scripted and directed by Craig Hooper and Collin Games, known from the Deep Purple movie documentary From Here To inFinite.

The band’s current lineup includes Ian Gillan (vocals), Ian Paice (drums) and Roger Glover (bass), along with guitarist Steve Morse (Dixie Dregs, Kansas) and keyboardist Don Airey (Gary Moore, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath). The album was produced by legendary producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd).
