Vassiliki “Voula” Papadimitriou was the mother of musician Tommy Lee Bass, known for his work with the band Mötley Crüe. Born on August 8, 1939, in Greece, she was a contestant in the 1957 Miss Greece beauty pageant. Voula met Tommy’s father, David Lee Thomas Bass, while they were both serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. Despite not speaking English, they communicated using a translation dictionary and eventually married on July 22, 1957. They moved to the United States in 1963, where they raised Tommy and his sister, Athena Lee Bass. Voula passed away on March 9, 2012.
