Doors drummer John Densmore shared a Paul Ferrara pic from the Waiting For The Sun photoshoot, noting that the album first arrived this month back in 1968.

He explains that this record was a different experience for the band: during their early “incubation” period they’d written enough material for the first two albums in advance, but by the time they reached Waiting For The Sun they had no songs ready, so they wrote in the studio, a challenge that pushed them into new territory and led to some of the album’s most memorable moments.
