“Souvenirs,” a new song from the Shout Out Louds, has been embedded below. The track is taken from the band’s fifth full-length album, Ease My Mind, which was released on September 22, 2017.
About the track, the band said: “We wrote “Souvenirs” in 10 minutes. It sounds so soulless, doesn’t it? We had spent the day before in our tiny, stuffy practice space and someone said: ”We’re suffocating, let’s go somewhere else.” So the next day we went to another tiny, stuffy place. “JUST PLAY SOMETHING!”, Bebban yelled. And out of Carl’s guitar came that little weeping loop that made up Souvenirs, on the first try. It’s strange how those things happen, isn’t it? Carl has never been one to respond especially well to yelling, but this time it…worked? Or just didn’t ruin something that was already on the way out? We don’t know, and at this point we can only accept that something that may turn into something that matters can take as little as 10 minutes and a little bit of yelling.”
