Pink Floyd Backing Vocalist Claudia Fontaine Dies @ 57

U.K. vocalist Claudia Fontaine has died.  No official cause of death has been reported at this time.  She was 57 years old.

As well as working with artists including Dusty Springfield and Annie Lennox, Claudia provided backing vocals on Pink Floyd’s ‘The Division Bell Tour’ and on David Gilmour’s ‘Meltdown’ performances at the Royal Festival Hall in 2001 and 2002.

Hailing from London, Claudia’s work can be heard on recordings by reggae artists such as Keith Douglas, Tony Tuff and King Sounds.  In addition to launching a solo career, she was a key member of Mellow Rose, One Love and True Harmony.  Her vocals can also be heard on The Beatmasters 1989 single “Warm Love” and recorded a rendition of the R&B ballad, “Natural High,” which remains a U.K. classic to this day.
