Nikki Sixx Pays Tribute to Mick Rock, “The world lost a legend” – Photographer Dies @ 72 – Tributes – 2021 – Bathtub Photoshoot

Nikki Sixx: I remember us reaching out to Mick Rock to do some photo sessions for Motley because he had shot so many of our heroes. Once we met, it was like kindred spirits. Jamming on ideas and then just letting whatever happened happen. We laughed a lot at the world and ourselves. He shared tons of great stories over the years with me about Bowie, Iggy, Lou Reed and of course Queen. He never had a bad word to say about anybody. He loved art. He loved adventure and with his wicked sense of humor showed no fear. I remember seeing this bathtub in the back room of a photography studio and he said “let’s gets you lads in there and challenge the heavy metal cliche” much like he had done a million times before. He reached out to me 2 months ago and asked me to write the forward to his next book. I’ll miss our crazy phone calls and laughs backstage after our shows. I’ll miss his photography. The world lost a legend but his legacy and photos will live on forever. RIP my friend. 💔 #MickRock
