Stryper frontman Michael Sweet is coming to Nikki Sixx’s defense after a fan used an “Ask Sixx” Q&A to take a shot at Vince Neil’s weight. In a recent social media post, Sweet called out the fan’s question, which asked if Nikki is embarrassed to share the stage with Vince and whether he ever tells the singer to “eat a salad and maybe hit the gym.”
Instead of piling on, Sweet condemned that kind of public shaming and used the moment to highlight what he sees as a bigger problem: the way modern platforms encourage cruelty under the guise of “asking anything.” Pointing to how social media has “decayed our society,” he backed Nikki’s right to stand by his bandmate and pushed for a little more basic respect in rock fandom.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – social media has literally decayed our society. Anyone, at anytime, can say anything, about anyone.
Did we forget the phrase “if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all”?
I can’t tell you how many people I’ve had to block, unfollow & unlike – just because they’re idiots. And every friend of mine in the business? The same.
Friends, family, peers. Unreal!
What has happened to us? I’ll tell you what – Phones. We’ve lost touch because we’re addicted to our phones. We’re obsessed with our phones. We’re controlled by our phones. We’re manipulated by our phones.
Of course, not everyone, but man, so many people. Trash talking, starved for attention, self centered, cold hearted people.
Not sure why but seeing comments like the one by David really get under my skin.
Perfect comeback by Nikki👏👊😉
God bless Vince and we should all wish him well. We don’t know what’s going on in his world. Maybe a little positive feedback (instead of constant tear downs and negativity) will do some good. For all of us!
One last thing – we’re all getting older (your favorite bands). We’re not perfect (never were) and as we age, we become even less perfect.
So go a little easier on us. We’re doing our best. We’re still alive, performing the music you supposedly grew up with and love.
One of my favorite movie quotes of all time says it so perfectly:
“Lighten up Francis”🤷♂️
