Classic Pink Floyd Vibe on the New Roger Waters Song, ‘Smell the Roses’, LISTEN!

Roger Waters will release his new solo album, Is This the Life We Really Want?, on June 2, 2017 via Columbia Records. The new solo effort, Waters’ first since 1992’s Amused to Death, was produced by longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. You can now listen to the album’s first single, “Smell the Roses” (located above).
I have to admit, I was taken aback when the song kicked in, Godrich has managed to capture a classic and familiar sound with the backing music. In addition to producing the album, Godrich is also credited with keyboards, guitar, sound collages and arrangements.
Roger Waters will hit the road in May for his Us + Them North American tour, a list of those dates can be found at this location.
