Chuck D, “Been following T Challa & Black Panther in Marvel since 1968”

Chuck D: “Been following T Challa & Black Panther in Marvel since 1968 as a comic head . It was bold then because The Black Panthers were our real life heroes doing real things. Today we dig the Reel heroes but let’s keep finding supporting our ‘real’ superheroes as well. Reality>Fantasy

“We just gotta keep hero leader in context. Older heads told me BLACKfolk were ‘drawn’ into Real heroes before they were ‘drawn’ on a reel storyboard. Case point after USA murdered MLK-X-Panthers in the 60s the next generation followed SHAFT which inspired but left little focus.”

The Disney/Marvel movie, Black Panther, is expected to haul in nearly $400 million over the weekend, making it the highest grossing film of 2018.  Starring Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa / Black Panther, the movie premiered in Los Angeles on January 29, 2018, and was released throughout the United States on February 16, 2018.

T’Challa, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king.
