Vinnie Paul Died in His Sleep @ His Las Vegas Home
According to TMZ, Vinnie Paul died in his sleep at his home in Las Vegas. His body has been turned over to the medical examiner to determine a cause of death. He will then be flown back to his home state of Texas to be buried between his mom, Carolyn Abbott, and brother, Dimebag Darrell Abbott.
Vinnie was a founding member of the bands Pantera, Damageplan and Hellyeah. Following the breakup of Pantera, the Abbott brothers formed Damageplan. On December 8, 2004, while on tour to support the band’s lone album, New Found Power, Dimebag Darrell was shot dead onstage – in front of Vinnie – by Nathan Gale at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio.
