The Cribs Release 2nd New Track, ‘Year of Hate’, Listen!
The Cribs have dropped another new song called ‘Year of Hate’ – you can now listen to it via the embedded clip above. The track was formerly a ‘secret song’ originally appearing on a white label vinyl-only release, limited to just 247 copies worldwide. An official statement from the group reveals the reason behind the undisclosed song, “It’s hard to keep things a secret nowadays, but we have always endeavoured to try and find a way to make each new record exciting for people – and so to deliver ‘Year of Hate’ to our most hardcore followers directly, so that they heard it first, was something we thought was important. But now we have decided that it’s time that everyone heard it – it’s our heaviest stuff to date and we are really proud of it.”
The statement continued, “This also seems like a good time to say thanks to everyone that raced out to grab one of these 7″s after we made their co-ordinates/whereabouts known. You guys are awesome, and we consider ourselves very lucky to share your enthusiasm and excitement for our band. Hopefully this goes someway to rewarding your dedication. But the time has now come to share that secret, so help us spread the word!”
On Monday, the band released their first new song since 2015’s For All My Sisters. That track is called ‘In Your Palace’ and can be heard at this location.
The Cribs have been working with engineer/producer Steve Albini, still no word on whether or not the songs will be part of an upcoming album.
