William Shatner (95) is entering heavier territory than ever with a new metal album that pairs his unmistakable voice with a lineup of major rock and metal talent. Bold and unexpected, the project is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about hard rock releases on the horizon.
Along with the previously announced Rob Halford of Judas Priest, Shatner has now added John Moyer of Disturbed and Dave Lombardo, the legendary drummer whose work with Slayer helped define thrash metal and whose time with the Misfits further cemented his status in rock history. Lombardo said it was a true privilege to play drums on Shatner’s ambitious heavy metal project, adding that real artists keep pushing boundaries at any age. The album is being guided by a production team led by Adam Hamilton and Cleopatra Records president Brian Perera, with additional production from Derek Hughes, Marcus Nand, and Jürgen Engler of Die Krupps.
