Rick Springfield Pays Tribute to Brett Tuggle

Rick Springfield paid tribute to late keyboardist Brett Tuggle, marking four years since his passing with a heartfelt remembrance of his friend and bandmate.

“Our sweet and talented brother Brett Tuggle left us four years ago today,” Springfield wrote. “Such a fabulous, talented human.”

He also looked back on how the two first connected in 1981, recalling that his then-girlfriend, now wife, Barbara, told him: “there’s this keyboard player in a band called Romeo you should check out for your band.”

According to Springfield, Brett came by his “brand spanking new house” and the two immediately bonded over their shared love of The Beatles.

Calling Tuggle “such a prince,” Springfield said it was difficult to fully explain what Brett meant to everyone lucky enough to know him during his “all too brief life.”

He closed the tribute with: “My love and eternal brotherhood to you Tuggie.”
