Tribute: “Fast” Eddie Clarke of Motörhead/Fastway – Music World Reacts – Guitarist Dies @ 67

“Fast” Eddie Clarke, former member of the bands Motörhead and Fastway, passed away yesterday (1/10). According to a statement, the guitarist “passed peacefully in hospital where he was being treated for pneumonia.” He was 67 years old.

Clarke was a member of Motörhead’s classic lineup, which consisted of Lemmy Kilmister, himself and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor, he was the last surviving member. Following his stint in Motörhead (1976-1982), Clarke formed the band Fastway with UFO bassist Pete Way.

“We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier tonight…Edward Allan Clarke – or as we all know and love him Fast Eddie Clarke – passed away peacefully yesterday. Ted Carroll (who formed Chiswick Records) made the sad announcement via his FB page, having heard from Doug Smith that Fast Eddie passed peacefully in hospital where he was being treated for pneumonia…”
