Chris Jericho:
For 22 years I’ve heard all the cutdowns & insults about FOZZY. Well now, WE can all stand behind what our band and hundreds of thousands of our fans worldwide have always known… FOZZY ROCKS! Thx to all who helped ‘Judas’ earn a GOLD FUCKIN RECORD! RIAA. 500K Sold.

Judas is the seventh studio album by the American heavy metal band Fozzy, released on October 13, 2017, through Century Media Records. The album’s title track was released as the lead single on May 5, 2017.
The lead single was a minor radio hit, spending 26 weeks on the Mainstream Rock chart and peaking at #9. The song also hit #1 on the Sirius/XM Octane charts.
“Judas” was the official theme song for NXT TakeOver: Chicago and lead singer Chris Jericho uses the song as his entrance theme for his appearances in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling.
“Painless” was the official theme song for NXT TakeOver: Chicago II the following year.

The Eagles’ greatest hits album has moonwalked past Michael Jackson’s Thriller to become history’s best-selling album of all-time.
The Recording Industry Association of America told The Associated Press on Monday that the Eagles’ album — Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 — is now certified 38x platinum, which means sales and streams of the album have reached 38 million copies.
The album was released in 1976 and pushes Jackson’s Thriller, which is 33x platinum, to second place.
RIAA also said that the Eagles’ Hotel California, released in 1977, is now 26x platinum and makes it the third best-selling album of all-time.
The last time RIAA tallied sales for the Eagles’ greatest hits album was in 2006, when it said it was 29x platinum. Sales and streams for Thriller were last updated last year.
“We are grateful for our families, our management, our crew, the people at radio and, most of all, the loyal fans who have stuck with us through the ups and downs of 46 years. It’s been quite a ride,” Don Henley said in a statement.
RIAA’s platinum status was once equivalent to selling one million albums or songs, but in 2013 the company began incorporating streaming from YouTube, Spotify and other digital music services to determine certification for albums and songs.
Now 1,500 streams of an album is equivalent to an album sale. Also, 10 song downloads = 1 album sale.
The Eagles, who formed in Los Angeles in the early 1970s, mastered the mix of rock ‘n’ roll and country music, and the band’s hits — including “Hotel California” and “Take It Easy — became part of the soundtrack of that decade. They broke up in 1980, coming back together 14 years later with Henley and Glenn Frey being the only remaining original members. Frey died in 2016, but the Grammy-winning band remains on tour.
The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and received the Kennedy Center Honor in 2016.

The self-titled debut studio album from The Lumineers was certified ‘Triple Platinum’ by the RIAA for sales in excess of three million copies in the United States alone. Released on April 3, 2012, the album debuted at #45 on the Billboard 200 chart, but, driven by the success of the single “Ho Hey,” it eventually peaked at #2.
About the 3X ‘Platinum’ certification, Jeremiah Fraites said: “This one means a lot. I cannot believe we surpassed 3,000,000 copies of our debut album. That’s approximately 2,970,000 more than I ever thought we’d sell. Thank you to the greatest fans in the world. Also, thank you to the FedEx guy for finally stopping after chasing you for 2 blocks to get this package from you.”

Cleopatra, the latest album by The Lumineers, has been certified platinum after selling over one million equivalent copies*. Released on April 8, 2016, the band’s second full-length effort debuted at #1 in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
The group’s previous album debuted on the Billboard 200 at #45 with first week sales of 10,000 traditional units. Following the success of their massive hit single, “Ho Hey,” the band’s 2012 debut record eventually peaked at #2, selling over three million copies in the United States alone.

Metallica RIAA Certifications: Did They Cheat? + List of Gold & Platinum Albums
Did Metallica just come up with a blueprint for manipulating RIAA certifications? On April 12, 2017, Metallica’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct was not only certified gold (sales of 500,000 copies) but was also certified platinum (sales of 1,000,000 copies). Shortly after the news broke, countless articles acknowledging and praising Metallica’s accomplishment began to surface online, but I couldn’t help thinking that it all seemed a bit misleading.
RIAA certifications are no longer solely based on traditional album sales, but now include individual digital song sales and audio / video streams (Metallica released a video for every song on Hardwired).
Traditionally, the RIAA counts double albums as two sales, so if a double album sells 500,000 copies, the RIAA actually counts it as 1,000,000 copies sold. Hardwired…To Self-Destruct could have fit onto one cd, but Metallica released it as a double cd. The album was also released as a 3 cd set featuring over 100 minutes of music and counting as three sales per purchase.
The most recent gain in sales can be attributed to Metallica bundling the album with a concert ticket. In short, Metallica boosted sales with a promotion ‘buy a concert ticket, get an album’, with each album redeemed counting as a traditional sale.
The music industry can be quite fickle, so we get it; you’re still relevant, but something’s rotten in Denmark, my friends.
