“I watched Taylor grow from being a kid on the scene to becoming one of the best rock drummers… ever. But he also became my friend. And I loved the times we spent together… whether in the same room or on FaceTime half a world apart. His energy was nothing but love and kindness and FUCKING FUN!!!

I remember seeing a picture of him behind the kit earlier this year and I saw the front head had a picture on it that looked like… like, me! I called him and said hey… is that a picture of me on your kick drum head and he said ‘Yeah, this tour I’m showing all my favorite drummers.’ So on Motley Stadium Tour this summer, on my kick drum was one of my favorite drummers, Taylor Hawkins. I wish he was here to see it.” -Tommy Lee

If I could say anything to you, Taylor, it would be thank you for all those crazy phone calls. Usually very early in the morning. I’d be having a cup of coffee. I’d be stirring out in the backyard, and you would call, and we’d talk about our favorite bands. We would talk about things that would piss us off and things that we loved.

The one thing I learned from you is to really believe in yourself. I remember there were a couple of times, I was having some rough times, and you were just like: “Sixx, you’re a badass. You’re a great songwriter.” You were just always pumping me up and making me feel like I could make whatever I was going through happen. I could succeed at whatever I was trying to do.

We talked about doing a band together at some point, some day. I miss you. I wish we’d got a chance to do that. Life got busy. Thank you so much for being there for me as a friend. I love you, and I miss you every single day.

Taylor Hawkins’ son Shane just rocked the drums on “My Hero” at the end of the tribute concert and I’m heartbroken and inspired all at once, that was the most intense thing I’ve ever seen ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This Taylor Hawkins tribute concert has been epic. Foo Fighters opening with Times Like These is perfect. Dave could hardly keep it together. Overcoming extreme sadness through his music. Gave me goosebumps.
