Josey Scott: R.I.P. Mrs. Nita Makris, one of the most important people in the Memphis Music Family. You gave me one of my first big breaks in the music business and in my personal life. You gave me a amazing stage to sing my songs on, and a safe home of family and friendships that you welcomed me with open arms into.
So many milestones were reached at your venue The Stage Stop in rockinβ Raleigh in Memphis, TN. I proposed to my beautiful wife Kendra Lynnette there, I saw my friends get record deals there, and I was blessed enough to celebrate my own record deal there along with the other original members of Saliva , I snuck in to see Wayne Swinny for the first time there, Todd Poole and Roxy Blue and countless other stars that came through your musical orbit. Thank Mrs. Nita, for always believing in me, and and always pushing me to be better.
I will miss you and always love you, and the Memphis Music Family. God bless your husband and precious family, and my very deepest sympathies and condolences and love to them at this time of celebration of such an amazing life lived. All my love, JS.

Dream Theater:
We are devastated to hear the news of the passing of former Dream Theater singer, Charlie Dominici. Charlie was the voice of DT on our debut album, ‘When Dream And Day Uniteβ, recorded back in 1988.
Beyond being a great singer, he was an incredibly talented songwriter, a well-rounded musician on both guitar and keyboards, and a long-time friend even after his departure from the band.
Charlieβs unexpected passing is a tremendous loss to everyone in the Dream Theater family, and we wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the Dominici family during this immensely difficult time.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers:
Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs.
He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.

Michael Schenker:
“What a shock, I am devastated. My little sister Barbara has passed away so early in her life. I am so sad.
I love you, Barbara. God bless you and rest in peace.”
Your brother, Michael.

Wikipedia:
During the 1980s, Barbara Schenker made a name for herself on her keyboard by founding the hard rock group Viva with which she recorded the albums Born To Rock (1980), What The Hell Is Going On! (1981) and Dealers Of The Night (1982). She wrote most of the songs there and was voted best national keyboardist in Metal Hammer in 1984.

Gentle Giant:
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Raymond Shulman on March 30th, 2023.
Raymond passed away peacefully at home in London after battling a long illness. He is survived by his wife Barbara Tanner and his brothers Derek & Philip Shulman. His family requests privacy at this very sad time.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Wayne Swinny, the guitarist of Saliva. Wayne passed away this afternoon from a Spontaneous brain hemorrhage while on tour promoting their new single “High on Me.” Wayne will be missed by all those who knew him.
“Iβm not even sure what to think or how to feel right now. My heart aches for Wayneβs family, his friends, and anyone who had the joy of being around him. My heart aches for his daughter Nikki. He loved that little girl so much. He was a Guitar Hero onstage with all the Rock βNβ Roll swag that most guitar players dream of. Offstage he was a proud father, an Ancient Aliens expert, and an incredible human who had zero enemies! He would go out of his way to make sure you had a good time. Iβm grateful that I got to share almost 12 years of my life with Wayne on the stage and most importantly off the stage. He was the older brother I never had. I learned so much from him and we had a fucking blast together! I will cherish it all for the rest of my life! God Bless you Wayne. I know weβll meet again!!” – Bobby Amaru
After acquiring front man Bobby Amaru in 2011, Saliva became infused with new blood, energy, and spirit. The same energy launched Salivaβs career in 2001 with the release, Every Six Seconds β a certified Double Platinum-selling album, containing the hits, βClick Click Boomβ and 2002 Grammy nominated, βYour Disease.β Salivaβs in-your-face, anthemic writing style continued with a certified Gold-selling album Back in to Your System with hits: βAlways,β βRaise Up,β and the Nikki Sixx co-written, βRest In Pieces.β
Upon adding former Shinedown and Fuel bassist, Brad Stewart, as a permanent member, Saliva solidified their new lineup consisting of: Wayne Swinny, Sammi Jo Bishop and Amaru.

Ben Kweller:
Thereβs no way that I can be typing this, but I amβ¦. Our son, Dorian Zev Kweller, was killed last night. He was only 16 and he was a true legend. Kindest, gentle soul, a friend to all. If you knew him, you know. Weβll never get over him as long as weβre here on earth. Please keep his spirit alive with your memories and the music he made: @reallyzev.
Dorian Zev wrote and recorded songs every day. A true poet from the day he started speaking. Only a few of his recordings were released but he was on a path and excited about his journey. He had so many plans!!! His first gig was in two weeks at SXSW. My last text with him was about the merch he wanted to make.
My baby boy was at the starting line with so much life ahead of himβ¦ I have no idea why things like this happen. Weβre in complete shock and donβt know what the future holds. Lizzy, Judah, and I have no idea how to deal with this disaster. Thank you for your prayers and support and we apologize if we are slow to respond to messages. π

Variety: Singer-songwriter-guitarist David Crosby, a founding member of two popular and enormously influential β60s rock units, the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash (later Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), has died. He was 81 years old.
His wife released a statement to Variety, saying, βIt is with great sadness after a long illness, that our beloved David (Croz) Crosby has passed away. He was lovingly surrounded by his wife and soulmate Jan and son Django. Although he is no longer here with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us. His legacy will continue to live on through his legendary music. Peace, love, and harmony to all who knew David and those he touched. We will miss him dearly. At this time, we respectfully and kindly ask for privacy as we grieve and try to deal with our profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers.β

Stephen Stills:
Graham Nash:
It is with a deep and profound sadness that I learned that my friend David Crosby has passed. I know people tend to focus on how volatile our relationship has been at times, but what has always mattered to David and me more than anything was the pure joy of the music we created together, the sound we discovered with one another, and the deep friendship we shared over all these many long years. David was fearless in life and in music. He leaves behind a tremendous void as far as sheer personality and talent in this world. He spoke his mind, his heart, and his passion through his beautiful music and leaves an incredible legacy. These are the things that matter most. My heart is truly with his wife, Jan, his son, Django, and all of the people he has touched in this world.
He was without question a giant of a musician, and his harmonic sensibilities were nothing short of genius.
The glue that held us together as our vocals soared, like Icarus, towards the sun.
I am deeply saddened at his passing and shall miss him beyond measure.β 3/3— Stephen Stills Official (@Stephen__Stills) January 20, 2023
