Jane’s Addiction Guitarist Dave Navarro’s ‘Long COVID’ Remedy: A Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 – 2022
I caved. Since I can recall I’ve always wanted a Shelby GT500 but I’m useless in a garage and the originals require a lot of care and someone who knows what they’re doing when maintaining a classic car. I heard a rumor that this may be that last year Ford builds the Shelby Mustang, so I thought, “Fuck it!” It’s a childhood dream and I could use getting the fuck outta here more often.
Sure, it’s not a ’67, but I’d actually like to drive it so I’m beyond stoked. I’ve always wanted a Shelby GT500 and a few years ago Duff McKagan picked up a Mustang. I was inspired by it, but it took me a few years to pull the trigger. Anyway, it ain’t gonna fix me but it will surely make recovery feel slightly less punitive.
By the way, this is not one of those things where I post some pictures and get a great deal. I just fucking love this car, and nobody asked me to do anything. I just think it’s good to know that people can still get excited about stuff without expecting anything in return.
