Following the popularity of their 2017 Caribbean concert vacation event, Dave Matthews and longtime collaborator Tim Reynolds have made plans for a second outing. Today, the duo joined with CID Presents to announce Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Riviera Maya 2018. Set for January 12 – 14, 2018, the all-inclusive concert vacation features three nights of Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds performing on the beach in Mexico, just steps away from the ocean. Additional artists will be announced in the coming months.

This serene Caribbean getaway, designed in partnership with CID Presents, will unfold in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Fleet Foxes Looking to Add New Touring Band Member – Violin, Viola, Cello

On June 16, 2017, indie folk band Fleet Foxes will release their third studio album, Crack-Up, via Nonesuch. As they prepare for their world tour, which launches in July, the band is currently looking to add another band member to take along on the journey. If you play violin, viola, cello (and sing) then you may be in luck. Joe Satriani

Paul Gilbert
As a member of Joe’s 2007 G3 Tour, legendary shredder, Paul Gilbert cemented his rock god status all over North America. From MR. Phil Collen
Philip Kenneth Collen was a late starter by all standards, especially when you consider his current iconic rock star status as lead guitarist for the world famous multi-platinum selling Def Leppard. Born in Hackney, East London, England on December 8th, 1957, Phil was influenced by everything from the Rolling Stones to the Motown sound to glam rock, hard rock, punk, or anything with a flair.

Warren DeMartini
Warren played his first concert with his band “The Plague” in front of a small crowd at San Diego’s La Jolla High School at the age of 15. By this time he was emerging as one of the San Diego area’s most talented and sought-after young guitar players. The first year he signed up, he won “Best New Guitar Player in San Diego” at Guitar Trader on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. He graduated from high school in 1981. DeMartini began taking classes at a local college, but in the first semester was invited up to Los Angeles to join Mickey Ratt; the band that would eventually become the highly successful 1980s metal band, Ratt.

To dig into Surfing with the Alien’s every nook and cranny, I’m inviting some very special guests who have figured prominently in my history and journey. For the first time since 1995, Stu Hamm and Jonathan Mover will be my live band during the camp! It’s such a cool reunion. They were my live band on the tours behind Surfing with the Alien when I started my career as an instrumentalist playing live. The three of us have such an interesting bond. I can’t wait to rekindle it. In addition, we’re going to have some other very special guests who are not only incredible musicians but longtime friends! My Surfing with the Alien partner-in-crime producer John Cuniberti will also be joining. He’s going to sit down with me in front of our campers and go over everything that’s on their minds about the record.

“Each year, the G4 Experience evolves. It’s like a rock ‘n’ roll show, so you hit the ground running, adapt, and improve every hour it’s going. That’s what makes it fun! That ignited something of a creative firestorm when we began thinking about the G4 Experience, and we decided to focus the camp on Surfing with the Alien.

David Lee Roth Drummer Gregg Bissonette to Host Drum Clinic on Facebook Live

Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth, Ringo Starr Band) will be joining Modern Drummer Magazine for a special Facebook Live Drum Clinic event on Wednesday, May 17 at 8pm ET. Gregg will be playing drums, answering your questions live, and he will be giving away a cool Dixon Drums shell pack.

Gregg is a touring, session recording, and full-time drummer with a background in jazz and rock music. He was part of the classic lineup in the David Lee Roth band along with Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan. His playing can also be heard on Santana’s multi-platinum album Supernatural, several Steve Vai solo releases, Richie Kotzen’s Inner Galactic Fusion Experience and countless movie & TV soundtracks.  Lastly, he graduated from North Texas State University, where he was the drummer for the famed NTSU One O’Clock Big Band.

Django Reinhardt remains one of the most significant jazz talents the world has ever seen. The legendary guitarist overcame great odds after two of his fingers became paralyzed. Already a working musician at the time, Reinhardt was so determined to prevail over his handicap that he invented a completely new style, only using two fingers and his thumb.

On May 20, 2017, Julien’s Auctions will be offering a Levin Deluxe guitar played by Django Reinhardt and Fred Guy of the Duke Ellington Orchestra and also featured on the cover of Guitar Magazine (Estimate: $80,000-$100,000). Aside from this guitar having been played by Guy, Django Reinhardt was photographed with the guitar at a 1946 gig at The Aquarium in New York City. Reinhardt was invited to America by Ellington in 1946, who was later quoted as describing Reinhardt as “the most creative jazz musician to originate anywhere outside of the United States.”

The Levin Deluxe is a non-cutaway archtop guitar with hand carved top and back, a spruce top and maple back and sides. It features two f-holes, black inlays, faux tortoiseshell pickguard and a sunburst finish. – More info
