What is a Loop Pedal?
Loop pedals are used to record a musical phrase or short passage on an instrument and play them back in a repeating loop. In most cases, you are engaging or disengaging the pedal with your feet, leaving you with two free hands for playing your guitar.
Here are just a handful of reasons loop pedals are useful:
- they make a great practice tool for sharpening your rhythm and timing
- they are a wonderful writing tool for composing music and structuring songs

‘Create a Great Tone’ Series w/ Jason Sadites
In this episode of Creating A Great Tone, I discuss a topic which comes up a lot in comments and messages I receive. I have a lot of folks say that the Helix can only sound good when used with all sorts of tricks, FX, heavy processing & IRs. In this video I take a look at what the tones are like with no processing other than using an amp model along with the paired up stock cab. It was a lot of fun to simply treat the Helix as a simple amp and see what kind of tones can be coerced out of it. I really hope you enjoy this fun look at the most simple use of the Helix 🙂
