Sebadoh’s Jason Loewenstein Releases First Solo Album in 15 Years

On June 16th, indie rock pioneer and multi-instrumentalist Jason Loewenstein of the legendary and highly influential band Sebadoh – the group he founded with Eric Gaffney and Dinosaur Jr. bassist Lou Barlow – released his new solo album, Spooky Action. Available via Joyful Noise Recordings, the album was recorded and produced entirely by Loewenstein. Play the clip above to listen the first single, ‘Machinery’.

Following a six-year stint playing bass, guitar and even acting as audio engineer with The Fiery Furnaces, Loewenstein has spent the last several years playing/recording/touring with Richard Buckner, David Kilgour and Sebadoh. The new album is Loewenstein’s first solo effort since 2002’s critically acclaimed At Sixes and Sevens.
