Katey Sagal (Peg Bundy) Reveals Affair with Gene Simmons of KISS

It could have been straight out of an episode of Married with Children, Peg Bundy as one of the 5000 women Gene Simmons claims to have slept with.  In March, actress Katey Sagal will release her new memoir, “Grace Notes”, which details her love affair with the KISS founder.

In an excerpt obtained by the New York Daily News, the actress says she first met Simmons when she was twenty years old, while waitressing at a Santa Monica restaurant. She says Simmons began to flirt with her after she sang for him (Sagal is also a singer). After her shift was over, Sagal took him home, “because he was quite persuasive, and I like men.”

At first, “I thought Gene was really weird,” she writes. But she also says “he was cute and had a lot of confidence.”

The following day, Sagal took Simmons to her band’s rehearsal. After liking what he heard, he brought Sagal’s band to meet Neil Bogart, the president of Casablanca Records. Bogart liked what he heard and signed the band immediately. However, not much came of it, as the album tanked resulting in the band being dropped.

Despite Simmons having a reputation as being a womanizer, Sagal says she fell for him.

“I fantasized that I would be the exception,” she writes in the book, which details her years in the music business and her shift to acting, her drug use and subsequent sobriety, an early bout with cancer and her three marriages.

When she started dating another musician who proposed to her, she accepted — but only after telling Simmons she’d decline if he wanted to marry her: he laughed.

Simmons left her with enduring advice, she says: don’t give up her career ambitions for a man. “And I never did,” Sagal writes, saying that was a lesson she needed to learn.
