THE SAS BAND – SPIKE’S ALL-STARS

Founded by renowned musician and musical director, Spike Edney, THE SAS BAND (a.k.a. Spike’s All Stars) is the “Ultimate All-Star Band” featuring world class musicians and some of the world’s greatest Rock artists.

Since their debut in 1994, The SAS Band have made various television appearances and have performed at an array of international high profile public concerts and major corporate events around the world.

These performances include The Prince’s Trust “Party in the Park” and the Mandela 46664 concerts in Cape Town, Hyde Park, London and Radio City Music Hall, New York. Corporate clients feature Microsoft, Harley Davidson, HSBC and McClaren Mercedes.

Every SAS show is unique and Sat 6th August at The Wickham Festival will feature a fabulous line up of eclectic artists including Madeline Bell, Toyah, Fish and special guest Roger Taylor. This will be an evening not to be missed.

About the musicians:

Philip ‘Spike’ Edney started performing with Queen (keyboards, rhythm guitar and backing vocals) in 1984. Accompanying the band on its tours since 1984, he was also part of Roger Taylor’s side project The Cross as well as Brian May’s band when they toured in 1993 and 1998. He has recorded and toured with The Tymes and Ben E. King, playing keyboards, bass, guitar and trombone. He was musical director for Edwin Starr and has worked with Duran Duran, The Boomtown Rats, Dexys Midnight Runners, Bucks Fizz, Haircut One Hundred and The Rolling Stones. Edney also appeared with Peter Green on his comeback tour.

Fish is a solo artist, also known for being the lead vocalist and lyricist for neo-progressive rock band Marillion from 1981 until 1988.

Susie Webb is a singer/songwriter who tours, records and performs extensively with some of the most legendary and iconic artists in the business such as: Queen, The Who, Pavarottti & The Faces.

Toyah Ann Willcox fronted the band Toyah before launching a successful solo career. She has had 8 Top 40 singles, released over 20 albums, written two books, appeared in over forty stage plays and ten feature films, and voiced and presented numerous television shows. Willcox married Robert Fripp of King Crimson in 1986.
